The owner of cosmetic MD, Dr Hooi has followed a singular path in Cosmetic Medicine.
Dr Hooi is a highly accomplished doctor who has degrees in law, medicine and further specialisation in Emergency Medicine. This gives him a thorough grounding in all facets of acute medicine and its regulation.
Dr Hooi has long had an interest in skin - starting even before his emergency medicine training. After obtaining further training in cosmetic medical procedures in 2007, Dr Hooi opened his first private cosmetic medical clinic in the Southern Highlands in 2008. His talent, keen eye and enthusiasm for his work became recognised in Sydney cosmetic medical circles and he became the principal medical provider at a number of well-regarded clinics in Sydney. In 2009, Dr Hooi was awarded as a Foundation Fellow of the Australasian College of Aesthetic Medicine. The current clinic in Telopea has been operating since late 2015.
Dr Hooi is a highly respected and sought-after trainer for MINT PDO threads and in PRP techniques for skin and hair rejuvenation. He regularly presents workshops on the latest advances in PRP therapy, and has been an invited speaker at a number of domestic (LCMC, Cosmetex, A5M, Cosmetic Summit, Cosmedicon) and international (Biobridge Venice and Biobridge Sydney) conferences on cosmetic medicine.
Dr Hooi keeps abreast of current developments in Cosmetic Medicine and has special interests in cosmetic injectables, bio-stimulator treatments, non-surgical skin rejuvenation and hair restoration. With his long experience in the use of point of care ultrasound in emergency medicine, he has brought his experience over to cosmetic medicine and the use of ultrasound to improve injection safety and complication management.
