THE VAMPIRE FACELIFT As we age, our faces change. We lose volume (shrink) in specific places, due to the loss of bone and soft tissues (such as the muscles, skin and the fat pads that support the cheeks, lips and brows). We lose our youthful rosy glow as the blood supply to our facial skin diminishes, and our skin starts to lose its colour. Our skin texture becomes less smooth, loses elasticity and results in drooping upper eyelids, lower eyelids, cheeks, jowls and sagging neck skin. The fine skin of the eyelids becomes thinner and more 'crepey'. Please note that the information presented here is of a general nature and does not substitute for a face to face consultation with a medical practitioner. What is a Vampire Facelift? The Vampire Facelift uses a combination of Platelet Rich Plasma with Dermal Fillers in a specific way to gently and naturally restore youthful volume and shape, without looking overdone. Unfortunately, due to Australia law, we cannot identify which fillers are used. More information about the procedure and the fillers used can be obtained on request. For more general information, please visit our Dermal Fillers page. Note that you must first see a medical practitioner for a consultation to determine your suitability for treatment with dermal fillers.
Firstly, we use dermal fillers to create a beautiful shape. While we do not intend to completely replace the lost volume in your face, the dermal fillers add structure to the areas of volume loss. Your PRP is then injected into your face in a specific way to improve the tone, texture and glow of the skin.
Areas that may be treated with the non-surgical Vampire Facelift®:
loss of volume in cheeks
early sagging of the face
crepey skin under the eyes
poor skin texture
dull, grey skin
Note that the Vampire Facelift is not the same as a Vampire Facial. Is the Vampire Facelift right for me? The Vampire Facelift was developed for people who want healthy, youthful, and rejuvenated skin, but done quickly and without surgery. The procedure uses your own body’s healing and regenerative properties. What happens during the procedure?
The procedure starts with numbing of the skin with a numbing cream. We then collect blood from the arm like any other blood test. The growth factors found in platelet-rich plasma (PRP) are extracted from that blood sample. The next step is a series of dermal filler injections to areas of the face to reduce wrinkles, add youthful volume, and improve the quality of your skin. The last step is to inject the harvested PRP into the skin. How long does the procedure take? The procedure takes 60 - 90 minutes which includes the consultation, consent and the actual treatment. Does it hurt? We numb the skin to make it as comfortable as possible for you. How long do the results last? Results can be experienced on the same day, with continual skin regeneration benefit lasting for months after the procedure, and results can last for over a year. What are the possible side effects? You can expect some redness and sometimes some bruising but, like many nonsurgical cosmetic medical treatments, it is possible to come in, have the treatment, and then go back to work.
